Geestmerambacht recreation area is located on the western side of the municipality of Langedijk in the Dutch province of North Holland.
The area is laid out around the 'Zomerdel', a large lake surrounded by meadows and forests. The area covers around 200 hectares, of which 40 hectares of forest with walking and cycling paths and 75 hectares of water of bathing water quality. [1] There is room for holding events, annual festivals are Indian Summer Festival and Liquicity. [2] Around the lake there are facilities for relaxation on and by the water, including sandy beaches and lawns.
The area is managed by Recreatie Noord-Holland NV. Recreation is a joint venture based on the Common Regulations Act and is governed by the municipalities of Heerhugowaard, Alkmaar, Langedijk and Bergen. Since January 1, 2017, the province of Noord-Holland and the municipality of Schagen are no longer part of the recreation board.
