About "The lost paradise (Eve and the serpent)"

by Ruben van Gogh - smartphoneart

About the artwork

A composite mannequin for the historical tapestry (gobelin) of the Bartholomeus Gasthuis in Utrecht. The serpent in paradise seducing Eve, in a contemporary variation of the creation story.

The Fall of Man is depicted in a very idiosyncratic way in this digital painting by smartphone artist Ruben van Gogh. Eve in the capacity of a mannequin composed of several specimens. Paradise is taken from the tapestry that is only known to some extent in Utrecht, and the snake is a grass snake that my daughter once caught.

Together forever in this Old Testament scene, religion -- but post modern and surreal.

With each sale I change the work slightly, so you always have a unique and contemporary biblical artwork in your home.
