The Hagia Sophia Mosque, officially known as the Great Mosque of the Hagia Sophia, is a mosque, cultural site and the most important historical heritage of the Byzantines in the Fatih district, Istanbul province, Turkey. The mosque was originally built as a Greek Orthodox church that lasted from 360 until the conquest of Constantinople by the Ottoman Empire in 1453. It then served as a mosque until 1935, then turned into a museum until 2020. In 2020 until now, the building became a mosque again.
