MadameRuiz Profile picture The Milkmaid, also called the kitchen maid or milkmaid. After the work of Johannes Vermeer. The painter from the Republic of the Seven United Netherlands during the Golden Age, or the 17th century of Holland.

Entirely engrossed in her work, a maid pours milk. An everyday act transformed with Johannes Vermeer's brush into an impressive painting, which we now call a genre painting. Vermeer had an eye for how the light played across the objects in hundreds of colorful dots.

In this edited version of the Milkmaid, the environment of the milkmaid is more raw than the original.

I am MadameRuiz, and am an artist by profession. I hope to delight you with my work. Here in my profile, or on your wall :) Both are fun!

Will you let me know what you think of my work? I would love to get in touch with you. Also when you have one of my works in your home I am very curious about the end result in your interior.

I love everything that has to do with art, culture and creativity. Experiencing, creating, teaching and communicating. Through language, image, non-verbal and through the musical voice.

I became known for my commissioned ink portraits. My work was first shown to a large audience in the program VTWonen Weer verliefd op je huis (February 2021). I make many ink portraits of and for individuals; from pregnancy portraits, wedding portraits, child portraits, love portraits and family portraits to portraits of pets such as dogs, cats, horses and birds. These ink portraits are all handmade by the way, drawn and painted with east indian ink on watercolor paper.

In my shop at work on the wall you can order my Digital Art. Because I normally work almost exclusively on commission, my autonomous art via Digital Art is really a wonderful experimental outlet. This also means that I keep experimenting with painting techniques and collage techniques using Photoshop. Although I love to experiment, quality comes first
