The Tangkuban Parahu volcano, located near Bandung in West Java, reveals here one of its most emblematic craters. This impressive landscape is marked by the grey and white hues of the volcanic rocks, contrasting with the touches of green provided by the surrounding vegetation. In the centre, milky pools form as a result of the geothermal activity that is still perceptible, living testimony to the subterranean force that still drives this mountain. Fumaroles escape from certain fissures, adding a dramatic and mysterious dimension to the scene. The ridged relief of the crater, shaped by successive eruptions, illustrates the power of time and the elements. Around it, the thickly forested slopes are a reminder that life always returns, even in the most hostile environments. Tangkuban Parahu, whose name means "overturned boat" in Sundanese, is also steeped in local legend, making this site a meeting place for nature, culture and spirituality. To observe this place is to contemplate the raw power of the Earth and the fragile harmony between destruction and rebirth.
