On a quiet bank, where the water gently ripples by, two kingfishers sit on a branch. Their bright blue and orange feathers contrast beautifully with the autumnal gold and green of the forest. They sit close together, alert yet relaxed, a harmonious pair that seems to follow the rhythm of the river.
The male looks down for fish for the young, while the female watches what he is doing and does enough work.
His eyes follow the movements of the water, keen and curious. Occasionally they bend towards each other, a subtle gesture of trust and connection. It seems as if the whole world pauses for a moment to witness this moment of tenderness.
On this branch, high above the water, their presence tells a story of partnership and cooperation, of the little rituals that sustain life and reproduction. Nature has brought them together, and their brief moments of closeness become a reminder of the elegance and harmony that lies in every detail.
Here, between sky, water and light, the kingfishers show that beauty is not only in individual colours or shapes, but in the quiet togetherness of two living beings, as fleeting as it is unforgettable.
I have been photographing for years out of passion and love for nature. I am also a farewell photographer (www.gedenkfotos.nl).. Read more…
