Amaryllis is a genus of bulbous plants in the daffodil family (Amaryllidaceae). Named after a shepherdess in the idyll of the Greek writer Theocritus and a pastoral of the Roman writer Virgil, the amaryllis is from the daffodil family. The amaryllis is best known as a true Christmas flower, as it is widely available at this time of year, both in bulb and cut flower! I always love to get it, a large ornamental flower. This one does well in all kinds of Christmas arrangements and Christmas bouquets.... I also enjoy photographing these and actually I like this stage best.
The flower comes from a bulb that I just left in the pot, cut away the leaves and later left in the dark for a while, the trick behind it, well, it was just a guess and this time it worked.
Photography was a daily activity in my work. Professionally, technical photographs were necessary, usually taken under difficult (light) conditions, to achieve a correct representation/visualization. A lot depended on these photos.
