The Bathsheba's Toilet, Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem, 1594
The beautiful Bathsheba is taking a bath in the open air. Two servants help her. King David sees the young woman from the roof of his palace and immediately falls in love. He is not depicted but his presence is suggested by the castle in the distance. It is remarkable that the servant we see on the back has a male body.
