The Broekmolen in the Dutch village of Streefkerk, municipality of Molenlanden, is a seesaw mill with open scoop wheel and was built in 1581 to drain the Kortenbroek section of the Streefkerk polder. The mill was in operation until 1951. In 1957, the Small Mill was decommissioned, but the polder was obliged to keep the Broekmolen grinding. Owned since 1 February 2008 by SIMAV, which took over the mill from the Rivierenland water board, the mill was shut down in August 2008. The upper house was simply all used up and worn out. It was clear that it had to come off to be restored in the millwright's workshop. Work began in May 2010. On 24 June 2010, the upper house was hoisted off. Over a year and a half later on the night of 13-14 October 2011, the new upper casing was placed on the lower tower. By December 2011, the mill was grinding again. In August 2012, repairs to the lower tower began. This restoration was completed in February 2013.
