About "Threat, what is the core of existence?"

by Harmannus Sijbring

About the artwork

"Threat, the core of existence" is the title of this digitally created painting, reminiscent of the movie poster of the film "Oppenheimer", not entirely unfairly. This image is not about two players playing chess with hot pieces, but about teams with substitutes. Not the ones we know from sports, but players who change colour, are multidimensional. They are saying now what you would say tomorrow if you didn't understand what was said. This painting is about the future, where we can still swim against the current, but can no longer see against the light. Where Pearl and Hans Anders sell glasses previously known as welding glasses, but are now prescription. Where lenses look black and you can no longer distinguish the colour of your eyes and expressions like "Who looks sweet out of his eyes" can refer to a book of "Proverbs from the old box". This painting fits anywhere, even on the toilet, where you can take a moment to think about what happens when nothing happens.
