About ‘Three Pineapples on a White Marble Background’ by MADK

I took this photograph as part of a school assignment whilst studying photography. This series focused on fruit on marble, and I explored how repetition, colour, composition and texture can combine to create an interesting image.

For this photograph, I arranged three pineapples side by side. The varying shapes of the leaves create a natural sense of repetition, whilst each pineapple is still slightly different. The combination of deep green, soft olive green, yellow and warm brown tones contrasts beautifully with the light white-grey marble.

By placing the pineapples at the bottom of the frame, there is plenty of space left above the subject. This gives the composition a calm and modern feel. At the same time, the fine veins in the marble add subtle extra details.

A fresh and graphic still life that looks great in a kitchen, dining room or modern interior.
