This toadstool stands in a dim, almost hidden spot in the forest. The filtered light creates a fairy-like atmosphere that feels nostalgic. You can even see the dust particles above the hat dancing in the light.
During my forest walks, I often scour the ground in search of such unexpected treasures.
The work is made with pastel chalk on pastel paper, which has a coarse texture that holds the chalk particles. This gives a powdery appearance that creates suggestion.
