The beautifully restored tollhouse across from café 'de Tol' on the road from Zelhem to Hummelo, dates from 1858 and was part of the H.E.K. (Hummelose-Enchedese-Kunstweg) road.
The word 'kunst' stood then for 'artificial hardening of sand roads'.
