About the artwork

Toyohara Kunichika (1835-1900) was an important Japanese ukiyo-e artist of the 19th century. He is best known for his colourful woodblock prints and portraits of kabuki actors, sumo wrestlers and beauties. Kunichika was a master of the ukiyo-e genre, which captured the fleeting pleasures and everyday life of the Edo period (17th to 19th centuries) in Japan. His works are characterised by their vivid portrayal of facial expressions and costumes, bringing to life the personalities of the people depicted. Kunichika also created series of woodblock prints, often depicting stories from famous plays or historical events.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
