A still life of days gone by. The cigarette symbolises an unfinished moment, caught in a time that never moved on. The light falling through the misty window is subdued and diffuse, emphasising the dusty atmosphere in the cabin and enhancing the sense of desolation and stasis.
This work is an ode to the past. A still life that invites the viewer to wonder who once inhabited this space and what happened in the unspoken moments left here.
