In the Netherlands, the tulip is pretty much's national flower, not really, because since last year that is the daisy. But still Tulips are inseparable from our country. In spring when the Tulips bloom, you find whole fields of Tulips in many colours. Red, yellow, orange, white, pink are well represented. A monument is something with a history and of course the Tulip has one. Tulips have been grown in our country since time immemorial. So a monument is certainly appropriate. This monument has even been given its own space in which it has a prominent place. It is a skeleton of an old factory. The factory occupied an important place in our country. And when the skeleton remained standing, it seemed like a nice place for this Tulip monument, thus giving the place a dual purpose. Of course, the ground is also littered with tulips. The colours used in this still life are mainly red, orange, green, yellow and cream.
As an artist, I like to enter a colorful world especially the world of flowers. This colourful and so positive world appeals to me enormously. Flowers spread a positive atmosphere because of the colors and the beautiful and diverse shapes and one can never get enough of that!.. Read more…
