Still life, made in my studio with daylight. These special tulips were sent to me directly from the auction and a special variety; Dusty Olive.
I bought the vase from a thrift shop, I am always looking for the most beautiful vintage ones to combine with my floral art.
It a beautiful large Boch Delft vase.
The background looks almost black but is a very dark blue shade, which softens the whole image and actually emphasises the colour of the vase.
The warmth of the tulips is reflected in the warmth of the vintage wooden country table, creating a nice mix between classic, vintage and a touch of country here. The processing I applied makes you want to touch, want to feel the photo. It looks picturesque.
On a matte print in a large format, this photo looks best, the veins and lines of the tulips become clearly visible, they are really beautiful.
