About ‘Tunnel vision’ by Sabrina de Vries

The world narrows down to a single direction. Everything outside that narrow line fades away, as if the air itself no longer offers any space. Thoughts swell up, becoming waves that crash against each other, higher and higher, faster and faster. I feel them overwhelming me, how I can hardly distinguish between inside and outside anymore.

The tunnel is not a place, but a state of mind. A corridor of my own thoughts where there are no side roads. Yet my feet keep moving. One step, then another. The rhythm is the only thing that does not drown.
