Here we see the small peninsula of Neist Point, with Neist Point Lighthouse at the tip, on Isle of Skye, Scotland. As the sun sinks into the Atlantic Ocean this serene early spring evening, the sky turns from blue to orange with soft hints of green and pink. A pair of white foam collars accentuates where the salty sea water sloshes against the dark rocks. And the foreground too is highlighted softly orange. This foreground takes the viewer from bottom right to bottom left and then with the curvature of the peninsula to the horizon. The sparse clouds, with almost fairy-like patterns in them, take the viewer to the same point on the horizon. And as the sun shines parallel to it over the seawater, you can almost feel it shining on your face.
On the horizon, we see the Outer Hebrides stand out against the sky and water as a dark mass. Land in sight!
