On a quiet forest path, two red deer stand face to face. Both are antler-bearers, but only one still wears its antlers proudly on its head; the other has since lost them. The difference between the two marks a special moment in the year: the period when deer shed their antlers and make way for new beginnings.
The soft light between the trees and the quiet nature of the path enhance the atmosphere of stillness and change. The presence of both animals - one powerful and complete, the other in transition - evokes a sense of natural rhythms, growth and transience.
