A small world, where light and dark clouds go together: you always have to deal with good things as well as bad. Where there is light, there is also dark.
The paper boat doesn't care about that and floats quietly on. Is it looking for a port to moor in, looking for solid ground under its feet?
This image is from and series of paintings inspired by the exterior panels of "The Garden of Delights" by Hieronymus Bosch. These panels were painted around 1500, when it had become clear to Europeans that the world is round: so there you see, in harmony, a flat disc of earth in a round globe. Multiple truths simply blend together.
This work has a calm and dreamy atmosphere.
