About the artwork
The Zeeland Bridge has been photographed many times and in many ways. Even this composition is not new, but wanted to try something different.
This picture is a series of photos'taken with a focal length of 560mm and later merged with Helicon Focus 8. This way, the pillars are all sharp. I deliberately kept the corners of the first pillar a little out of focus.
The photo was taken from Noord-Beveland to Schouwen-Duiveland. From Schouwen-Duiveland, this would not have been possible because that is where the moveable part of the bridge is. There is no view through the pillars here.
A total of 47 piers can be seen in the picture here. Between the piers there is a span of 95 m. In total, therefore, a distance of just under 4500 metres can be seen in this photo!
The photo was taken during sunrise with a very small amount of fog. This makes the left side slightly lighter than the right side. This gives just a bit more depth to the photo.
The tricky part of this photo was really getting the camera in line with the bridge. On the slippery stones of embankment, this did not happen automatically.
Personally, I think the juxtaposition of many light pillars against the lone dark bollard/mooring post makes it an interesting photo.
