About the artwork

From a low vantage point, with the camera close to the ground and pointed at the sky, Milan's UniCredit Tower rises like a colossus of glass and steel, a symbol of modern ambition and economic power in the heart of the city. This photo, taken from an unusual angle, not only captures the physical height of the building - the tallest in Italy at 231 metres - but also reinforces the sense of grandeur and dominance the tower exudes. Designed by world-renowned architect César Pelli and completed in 2012, UniCredit Tower is the showpiece of the Porta Nuova district, an area that embodies Milan's transformation from a historic city to a contemporary metropolis. From this perspective, the tower looks even more imposing, as if it defies gravity and invites the viewer to look up, both literally and figuratively, to the heights of financial success.
