Is it Iceland or another place in the far north? You'd think so, but it is "just" Veerhaven in downtown Rotterdam, however carefully framed to avoid highrise buildings and harbor cranes.
For centuries Veerhaven was the arrival and dearture point of the ferries across the Nieuw Maas river to the village of Katendrecht. Today the watertaxis to Hotel New York depart from here. The harbour is currently in use as a mooring for pleasure boats and as home of historic vessels.
This picture was taken on a cold, sunny day in late December. On the banks and the roofs there is still the snow that has fallen on the previous day.
My work can be found in the border regions of photography, painting and computer visuals. With my company 3Develop I do work in commission but I use the same techniques, skills and software to make free work.
