A man from Merzouga walks in evening light through the sand dunes of the Erg Chebbi, a desert area in eastern Morocco. It is one of the country's two ergs.
The area measures about 25 km from north to south and at its widest stretch 8 km from east to west. The sand dunes can reach a height of 150 metres.
