Kniepsand, known as one of the longest beaches in northern Germany, offers a breathtaking view of the Amrum dunes and the historic Quermarken beacon. This beacon, which has been remote-controlled since December 1984, is a striking landmark of the island of Amrum. From the viewing platform at the foot of the lighthouse, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view over the heath and dunes all the way to Kniepsand. On a clear day, the view even extends as far as the southern tip of Sylt with the Hörnum lighthouse.
