Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.
The artwork appears at its true size, so you cannot scale it in AR. Want a different size? Close AR and pick the size on the product page.
Still nothing? Open this page in Chrome or Safari. AR does not work in the browser of apps such as Instagram or Facebook.

Jan van Goyen’s deceptively simple paintings record remarkably realistic impressions of weather, space, and the shifting interactions of land, water, light, and air. He worked with swift, intuitive brushstrokes and a limited range of colors: gray, brown, cool blues, and earthy greens. The artist often went on sketching trips along the Rhine River, visiting cities such as Arnhem, or the German city of Emmerich, depicted here. In the foreground, a shallow boat ferries passengers and horse-drawn wagons across the river.
