About ‘View of Senja from Hesten’ by Thomas Heins

On this day, we decided to start the hike to Hesten shortly before midnight. Initially, the path seems very relaxed by Norwegian standards. However, the gradient increases quite quickly and it becomes really strenuous. As there are no tall trees at this altitude, we were very glad that the sun was already behind the mountain. After two hours of hiking, we reached the viewpoint at Hesten zum Segla. This mighty rock was very impressive. But I was struck by the low sun behind the Hesten mountain. This view of the rocks illuminated by the midnight sun simply mesmerised me.
