The Monasterio Santa Catalina de Siene or the beautiful Santa Catalina de Siene monastery in Arequipa is definitely not to be missed when traveling through Peru. What a beautiful and well-preserved monastery this is! The brightly colored orange and blue walls contrast beautifully with the white walls and green leaves of the plants.
The nunnery made of volcanic rock is still inhabited and was founded in 1580. It is large enough (20,000 square meters) to spend a few hours wandering around its streets and past quaint little squares. There is a wonderful serene peace. This photo shows a view through the monastery where the sunlight falls beautifully through the arches.
This print is suitable for lovers of Peru, South America, bright colors and monasteries.
