About "Waiting For A Call In London"

About the artwork

Red telephone boxes, kiosks or booths used to be a familiar sight all over the United Kingdom, Malta, Gibraltar and Bermuda. Production of these eye-catching telephone boxes with their bright red color stopped in 1985 but these cultural icons can still be seen in many places. This group of telephone boxes are on the edge of Covent Garden in London.

They certainly caught your eye if you needed to make a call - in the days before mobile phones of course. But they were also quite dirty inside and sometimes vandalized.

In many places these telephone boxes have been made redundant and some cunning re-use has been made of them. There is even an 'Adopt a Kiosk' scheme. Some now contain emergency defibrillators for use by local communities. Many have become mini libraries offering book sharing opportunities. Some are used for floral displays. There are examples of people turning them into a small bar! And many of them have ended up as art installations.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
