In Petten aan Zee is the monument Palendorp on the beach off Bergeendstraat. This fine work of art consists of a 160 poles measuring six to 12 metres in length. The poles are in the shape of ten houses.It is a reminder of the old Petten, which was inundated by the sea long ago.
