Water and gold in the Dutch landscape by Werner Lerooy

Along the Jeppegat and the Middelste Gat van Het Zand, a landscape unfolds in which water, dykes and vegetation are constantly changing colour. Bright blue water winds its way through the landscape, surrounded by golden-yellow vegetation and fresh green fields. Together, the various shades form an almost picturesque palette that is typical of the Dutch river region.

The watercourses are not only a natural feature but also play an important role in the landscape. These waterways enable the irrigation of agricultural land, meaning that nature and human activity literally coexist here. Yet the image is dominated above all by a sense of space and tranquillity.

The combination of colour and lines gives the photograph a strong graphic quality. The dykes guide the eye through the landscape, whilst the water adds depth. The golden grass and green vegetation bring warmth and freshness together in a single composition.

As a work of art on the wall, this photograph brings a slice of the characteristic Dutch landscape into your home. The piece exudes space, nature and summer, and continues to captivate with its rich colours and layered depth. A harmonious landscape in which water and land constantly alternate.
