The moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) is a bird in the family of the Rallidae.
Fowl are dark in colour with a red beak and a red blaze on the forehead. The tip of the beak is yellow. On the flanks they have white stripes. Contrary to coots, they do not have swimming-fly scooters. With their long, green toes they forage regularly on the bank. The body length is 32 to 35 cm and the weight is 175 to 500 grams.
