Due to the high water level in the adjacent river Nieuwe Merwede, the Noordwaardpolder near the Dutch National Park De Biesbosch was partially flooded according to plan. To this end, the polder was reclaimed a few years ago by, as part of the Room for the River project, lowering the dikes and demolishing existing farms, among other things. In the background is a new farm on a mound.
