Wedding Supper, Martin van Meytens (1763)
This painting is from the five-part Wedding Cycle depicting the festivities celebrating the nuptials of the heir to the Austrian throne, Joseph, and Isabella of Parma on 5 October 1760. It depicts the wedding supper in the Redoute Hall of the Vienna Hofburg. The table is set for dessert and decked with porcelain, while its inner side is decorated with a centrepiece in the form of a garden made of coloured sugarpaste.
