About "Whale in the Fjord"

About the artwork

A humpback whale dives into the still waters of Skjálfandi Bay, just off the coast of Húsavík in North Iceland. Its tail lingers above the surface for a few seconds before disappearing into the deep. In the distance, the snow-covered peaks of the Kinnarfjöll mountain range rise through a layer of low clouds, adding a quiet sense of scale and solitude to the scene.

This moment was captured on a calm, overcast day when the sea and sky seemed to blur into one endless stretch of blue and grey. There were no dramatic splashes or breaches, just a peaceful encounter with one of the ocean’s most impressive creatures. The soft light and muted colors reflect the mood of the north: raw, remote, and deeply alive.

Standing there with the camera, it was impossible not to feel small. It’s a rare thing to be so close to something so big, yet everything about the moment felt gentle. This photo is a quiet reminder of the power and grace that exists in places where nature still calls the shots.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
