While walking in the dune area near Heemskerk, I saw this Wild Akelei.
These flowers bloom in spring, exactly the time I was there.
Although mostly known as a garden plant with many different coloured flowers, the Wild Columbine is also a species that belongs to our wild native flora.
The locations where the wild Columbine naturally occurs are now so rare that the wild Columbine is one of the most endangered plants in the Dutch flora.
I loved the colour of the flower and took this photo of it.
I deliberately chose to put one flower in sharp focus and the other somewhat blurred, so that it really stands out, and also because this one was flowering nicely and the others were not yet at that stage.
I also think the various stages of flowering stand out nicely in the photo.
Because the background is blurred and green, I think the colours of the flower look even better in this photo.
All in all, I think it turned out to be a beautiful photo with fine, soft colours.
Thank you for taking the trouble to look at my photos.
