Willem Kalf (1619 - 1693) was a Dutch painter. Kalf painted kitchen interiors and scenes in and around farming, but he is best known for his still lifes. Objects in his still lifes are of stunning detail. He is generally considered the most important painter of still lifes in the 17th century.
