The Schiedam windmills are the tallest classical windmills in the world. Six mills remain of the 20 that once stood in old Schiedam. The mills were used as burner mills, grinding malted grain for the burners, who distilled malt wine for the gin industry. Outside the old town, the Babber mill still stands. Since March 2006, Schiedam has had a seventh (modern) mill, De Nolet. At more than 43 meters tall, it is the tallest classical-looking windmill in the world and produces energy. Source: Wikipedia
