About "Winter evening at Kinderdijk - Old Drawbridge"

About the artwork

This image came about during a visit to Kinderdijk, where I became fascinated by the little old bridge that blends perfectly with the landscape. What appealed to me was how it gives access across the water to the beautiful windmills, a blend of history and nature. It was a great opportunity to capture this typical Dutch winter scene.

It exudes a fresh, cool feeling, softened by the warm evening glow, and evokes the serene calm of a Kinderdijk winter evening, balancing between chill and calm.

It tells a story of beauty in simplicity and peace at the end of a day, even in the coldest times. To appreciate the tranquillity of the evening, the few people skating in the distance, and the small wonders around me, inspired by Kinderdijk's timeless charm. I hope it invites viewers to pause and enjoy the Dutch winter landscape.

Using a slow shutter speed, I created dramatic sunrays and accentuated ice crystals, using careful lighting for contrast between cool and warm tones, guided by twilight and Kinderdijk's atmosphere.

Perfect for a Scandinavian or minimalist style, it offers calmness with cool blues and warm glow. The Kinderdijk location evokes memories for heritage and nature lovers, ideal as an elegant resting point in living room or office.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
