It is an old-fashioned scene that has not been seen for a long time.
People used to plough the land without machines.
A horsepower for the plough and manual steering.
Driving the horse was done by someone else.
I still managed to capture this real scene in Poland. There, too, with in the poor eastern areas already had a small tracktor but here the very last ploughmen with a horse.
At the end of the land, the horse took some more bites of the grass that stood there. Somehow I long for the days when haste was not yet invented. Yet it seems people want this method back in the country. It is a very sustainable way of producing food. The larks were still there in full force, singing above me. A basic piece of equipment for a draft horse is, of course, a harness. The animal was steered by it.
The horse was actually quite happy too it seemed as he was treated very sweetly.
Just imagine patting the machine on its shoulders and telling it that it did well. Well but with a horse that did happen.
