A wooden front door and a yellow wall in Florence on a street that runs up (or down) to (or from) the old town toward Piazzale Michelangelo, the big tourist square overlooking the old town.
Everywhere in Italy you see beautiful (and not so beautiful) old and newer buildings. Some are neatly finished and painted and in some the paint is peeling off the facade and the building is falling apart. This also makes the street scene in Italy interesting. Sometimes there is a modern interior behind a dilapidated facade, sometimes it is dilapidated as well.
You might expect that in the richer north of Italy the buildings would also look better, but that is often not the case. In the north of Italy you will find just as many dilapidated buildings as you will in the south of Italy.
It is wonderful to walk through the streets of villages and cities and to look for photogenic spots.
Diana and Ronnie like to travel to areas where few tourists come.
