The inspiration for this work was the graphic quality of natural ground cover. I was interested in how the repetition of small, simple shapes results in a visually powerful pattern. The sunflower, with its intense colour and clear form, provided the ideal basis for this.
The atmosphere is friendly, light and natural. The picture invites you to embrace the diversity in the uniform. The message is restrained but present: nature often organises itself in a quiet way - and this is precisely where its effect lies.
