We were touring Uganda when we went on a Chimpanzee tracking trip. We followed a large group the the jungle with many young chimpanzees.
This young chimp was high up in the trees, calling out to his peers. I think I even got poo thrown down my neck. Photographing animals always has a risk and yes we were, after all, entering their habitat.
I find this photo interesting because you don't clearly see that it is a chimpanzee, but he recognises the silhouette and the environment it is in.
This trip was a trip never to forget anyway and I took a lot of beautiful photos'at this location. As this photo is almost an abstract image, it is suitable for hanging on the wall.
My photos are made 'in the moment'. One moment that may not come back due to a confluence of circumstances. There can (almost never) be a second same photo taken. I don't think too much, sometimes the photo is perfect at the press of a button. I also edit.. Read more…
