About ‘Zege peninsul: Ura Kidane Mehret’ by Maarten Verhees

Ura Kidane Mehret is een kerk van de Ethiopisch Orthodoxe kerk, gelegen op het schiereiland Zege in het Tana-meer van Ethiopië. Het maakt deel uit van het complex van het Klooster van Genade. Tenminste één auteur beschouwt het als de meest aantrekkelijke kerk in de regio van Tana-meer.Het klooster werd gesticht in de 14e eeuw door de heilige Betre Mariyam (Amhaars "Staf van Maria"), hoewel de huidige circulaire kerk dateert uit de 16e eeuw. Het interieur is versierd met talloze muurschilderingen die tussen de 100 en 250 jaar geleden werden geschilderd; onderwerpen zijn onder meer Negus Tekle Haymanot van Gojjam en zijn volgelingen. De belangrijkste werden geschilderd door Alaqa Engida tijdens het bewind van keizer Menelik II. De kerk heeft zijn schatkamer in een nabijgelegen bijgebouw, dat de rijkelijk geborduurde gewaden van Negus Tekle Haymanot en zijn vrouw Laqetch Gegre Mehdin bevat, evenals de kronen van keizer Yohannes IV, keizer Tewodros II, Negus Tekle Haymanot en keizer Tekle Giyorgis.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
