About ‘Zermatt - Findeln’ by Thomas Bugdoll

The hamlet of Findeln used to be a Maiensäss, the place of residence and work of numerous Zermatt families. Cereals were grown and cows grazed. Today, Findeln is a hotspot for high-class mountain gastronomy in summer and winter. The Maiensäss is a cleared area with huts and stables. Each Maiensäss has at least one small house and a stable; as an ensemble it sometimes has a village character (Almdorf), especially with its own church. A Maiensäss is still below the tree line at an altitude of about 1200 to 1600 metres.

Zermatt in the southern Swiss canton of Valais is a mountain resort popular with skiers, climbers and hikers. The town lies at an altitude of 1,600 metres at the foot of the famous pyramid-shaped Matterhorn. Zermatt's main street, Bahnhofstrasse, is home to boutiques, hotels and restaurants as well as a lively après-ski scene.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
