The Czech landscape, as can be seen from the Zirkelstein, is characterized by many small and large mountains that grow out of the ground like cones. Even further south, up the Elbe, such shaped elevations can be found and partly spotted from the ridge of the Ore Mountains. The deep valleys such as the Elbe Valley or the Kamnitz Valley on the Czech side can be found mainly in the region of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, the Bohemian Switzerland.
