About ‘drops on a feather’ by Leo Luijten

The macro photo shows a gracefully curved bird feather, captured razor-sharp with stunning detail. The fine fibres of the feather are clearly visible, like thin, delicate lines stretching out like a web. Tiny drops of water glisten on the fibres, as if they have been carefully laid down by dew. The droplets subtly reflect the light, creating a sparkling effect. In the background, the image fades into abstraction, with an abundance of bokeh light spots that give the scene a dreamy atmosphere. These light circles vary in size and with a blue-purple colour, adding depth and dynamism to the picture, while the sharp details of the feather remain central. The contrast between the bright feather and the soft background makes the shot both soothing and enchanting.
