The flamingo's at Amersfoort Zoo have access to a small pond with a small beach surrounded by tall trees. On the day of the photo, the weather was rather dark. It seemed as if the light fell straight from above on the flamingo's. All but one were sleeping on the little beach. That one was trying to find some food in the pond. The photo was deliberately underexposed to ensure that all disturbing elements from the surroundings are not visible in the photo.
