The John Frost Bridge, popularly known as the Rhine Bridge, is a road bridge in Arnhem-Centrum across the Lower Rhine River. The bridge is named after the English lieutenant-colonel John Dutton Frost. In World War II, the bridge played an important main role because of the airborne landing and battle of Allied troops in September 1944, as part of Operation Market Garden. The bridge has become a place of pilgrimage for veterans, relatives and others interested in the Battle of Arnhem.
